Sustainability and Human Rights Fellowship
The NYU Stern Center for Business and Human Rights and the NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business offer first-year MBA students a paid opportunity to work at a company on sustainability and human rights issues during their summer. Students will participate in pre-internship training and become deeply immersed in sustainability, corporate social responsibility, and human rights issues faced by their company through their summer internship. Past participating companies include Bloomberg, IFC, Microsoft, Williams-Sonoma, and Nespresso.

New Balance
New Balance, a brand synonymous with purpose beyond footwear, prioritizes championing passion-driven individuals and promoting social and environmental responsibility. As a Human Rights Fellow, this person will play a crucial role in supporting our fair compensation initiatives, analyzing data, and updating our compensation blueprint while ensuring alignment with human rights regulations. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to contribute to other sustainability projects, reflecting New Balance’s commitment to meaningful change and equal opportunity for all.
Apple
Apple, with its expansive global supply chain spanning over 50 countries and involving millions of workers, prioritizes labor rights and human rights throughout its operations. As a Supply Chain Labor and Human Rights Intern within the Environment and Supply Chain Innovation team, this fellow will lead a project focused on aligning supply chain programs with UN Guiding Principles, emphasizing worker empowerment and strategic metrics for detecting rights violations. Through cross-functional collaboration and research, the fellow will present recommendations to senior leadership, contributing to Apple’s ongoing commitment to ethical and responsible supply chain practices.
Esusu
Esusu, a company dedicated to equitable financial access, addresses the challenge of financial stability in the US, particularly for the 45 million “credit invisible” Americans. Their platform empowers renters and property owners alike through rent reporting, property management analytics, and rental assistance. As part of their strategic initiatives, a Fellow will collaborate with the Director of Strategic Initiatives to expand Esusu’s direct-to-consumer business, focusing on enhancing the resident portal to provide resources for building a stable financial future, requiring coordination across various departments and activities like research, feedback collection, and service launches.
